# Ratios and Equivalent Measurements

The interactive white board Teacher Tool for this lesson is available on our website under Resources www.dreambox.com/teachertools. Students use a ratio table to record equivalent measurement ratios in the context of a recipe. This DreamBox lesson engages students in mental multiplication, division and proportional reasoning as they use scale factors and number relationships to generate equivalent ratios.

### Common Core State Standards

Grade ID Domain Cluster Standard 6 6.RP.3 Ratios and Proportional Relationships Understand ratio concepts and use ratio reasoning to solve problems. Use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems, e.g., by reasoning about tables of equivalent ratios. 6 6.RP.3d Ratios and Proportional Relationships Understand ratio concepts and use ratio reasoning to solve problems. Use ratio reasoning to convert measurement units; manipulate and transform units appropriately when multiplying or dividing quantities. 6 SMP.1 Standards for Mathematical Practice Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them. 6 SMP.2 Standards for Mathematical Practice Reason abstractly and quantitatively.
