SXSWedu 2015: We want more EdChat!

CEO Jessie Woolley-Wilson and DreamBox Learning are gearing up for SXSWedu 2015! After last year’s outstanding sessions, we are thirsty for more rich conversations about innovations to improve the future of education. But we need your help, and invite you to vote for Jessie’s exciting panels through the SXSW PanelPicker, for yet another amazing SXSWedu experience.

SXSWedu is an annual conference that brings together education’s most energetic and innovative leaders from all backgrounds within the learning landscape. Teachers, administrators, professors, and business and policy leaders all converge in Austin, Texas to connect, collaborate, create, and disrupt how we teach and learn.

We are excited to share the following three panels where we will hear from innovators and leaders in the educational technology field:

1. Ed-tech for Educational Inclusion

This SXSWedu panel topic aims to explore how Ed-tech and adaptive learning tools are transforming learning to reach all students and minimize institutional educational disparity. Panelists will discuss the connection between new learning technologies and educational inclusion in addition to disruptive strategies to prepare all of today’s students for the demands of our 21st century economy.

• Sehreen NoorAli, Founder, EdTech Women, Director of Partnerships, Noodle Education, Inc.

• LeVar Burton, Host and Executive Producer, Reading Rainbow

2. Tech × Teacher Prep × Disruption = Student Success

In different ways, these panelists are each leaders challenging the status quo in education to help teachers and students today and tomorrow. They understand that a continued rise in teacher attrition is a huge problem for all, and that solutions come in the form of a smart intersection of tools and technology, support, education, and mentorship. Successful teachers help us reach student success, and leadership in learning takes on new meaning when this group covers what it will take to get us there and why.

3. Women Disruptors 2.0

This panel features four women leaders who will share their perspectives about the relationship between gender and leadership in the education space. These innovators have helped move video learning from VHS to online libraries, set the global agenda on Ed-tech, worked with some of the most promising startups, and raised the standards of K–12 adaptive learning. Hear from them as they discuss disrupting the status quo of modern education and fostering global advocacy for education—and learn how you can join the movement.
