Curriculum and Instruction Designer


Position Summary


Teachers work closely with the academic, creative and development teams to create an interactive online math program for K-6. The instructional designer plans curriculum, creates virtual manipulatives, and writes, tests and edits lessons as needed.

Responsibilities & Requirements


We're building a large scale web service using modern web technologies to deliver learning experiences to students. You'll join a small, nimble team of experienced educators, software engineers and graphic artists with experience in large corporations and small start-ups.

You'll be working on the design, features, and functionality to create a web-based product. This includes:

  • Solving hard problems related to digitizing curriculum
  • Collaborating on content standards, lessons, and assessment design
  • Translating curriculum and assessment design into software specifications for Creative and Engineering teams
  • Cultivating relationships and creating partnerships with academicians, schools, and key thinkers in the fields of cognitive science, educational technology, mathematics, and curriculum and assessment
  • Ensuring product design reflects best practices and current research in education by sharing vision, gaining collegial support, and executing against Company plan

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5 years elementary teaching; must include math
  • Education: National Board Certification preferred; teaching degree
