Pearson Canada Signs Agreement to Distribute DreamBox Learning’s Adaptive Instructional Product to Canadian Market

Canada’s No. 1 Educational Publisher to Bring Award-Winning Web-Based Content to School and Home Markets

BELLEVUE, WA, July 23, 2009
Pearson Canada, Canada’s largest education publisher, and DreamBox
Learning, Inc., an award-winning software start-up, have signed a letter of
intent under which Pearson will exclusively market and distribute DreamBox
Learning’s web-based instructional products throughout Canada for use
in both the classroom and home. Pearson will immediately begin to distribute
DreamBox Learning K-2 Math, an effective, individualized, and engaging online
math product for students in kindergarten through 2nd grade.

“We’re looking forward to establishing DreamBox Learning as a
leading provider of individualized web-based instructional products in
Canada,” said Marty Keast, President of the School Division of Pearson
Canada. “The Canadian school system and parents alike are eager to
tap quality online learning products that reflect a research-based approach
to learning, while offering an appropriate engagement for students. DreamBox
Learning K-2 Math delivers on both fronts so it was a clear choice to add it
to the Pearson portfolio.”

“We are excited to be working with the leading education publisher in
Canada to bring the DreamBox Learning experience to Canadian students, parents,
and teachers,” said Lou Gray, Co-Founder and CEO of DreamBox Learning.
“We look forward to many years of serving this growing market across
multiple grades and subjects with effective, highly differentiated web-based
instruction that helps students achieve their full academic potential.”

DreamBox Learning K-2 Math was built on the DreamBox Learning platform,
designed by world-class software engineers to be a scalable and efficient way
to create effective and individualized web-based instruction that leverages
the knowledge and teaching expertise of “domain experts” who are
typically experienced teachers. The company launched its platform and
critically acclaimed first product, DreamBox Learning K-2 Math, in January
2009, and DreamBox Math Classroom in April 2009. The innovative and adaptive
product complements what young students learn in the classroom by developing
and reinforcing foundational math concepts through effective, individualized
instruction while simultaneously being engaging. To date, DreamBox Learning
K-2 Math has received the prestigious 2009 Golden Lamp Award for Technology
and Innovation as well as the 2009 Distinguished Achievement Award from the
Association of Educational Publishers; Children’s Software Review
Editor’s Choice Award; and numerous other awards and five-star reviews.
