DreamBox Unveils Response to Intervention Solution Designed to Shrink Learning Gaps

New Progress Monitoring Capability Surfaces Actionable Data and Increases Intervention Effectiveness

BELLEVUE, Wash. —January 30, 2017— DreamBox Learning® today unveiled a Response to Intervention (RTI) solution that leverages formative data to drive personalized interventions that support district RTI efforts and initiatives, and have the potential to shorten intervention time for students. This unparalleled progress monitoring capability empowers educators with formative data they can leverage to identify learning gaps, monitor learning growth over time, and predict the status of student learning goals over the course of the intervention. With DreamBox’s new RTI solution, teachers can set specific goals for individual students and have a more accurate understanding of what their growth and success will look like. This new capability will increase the impact DreamBox has on student learning while also saving teachers time.

A study released last year by the Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University found that elementary math students who used DreamBox saw achievement gains. “It’s incredible how DreamBox adapts to each student’s exact learning level,” said Amy Crisp, fifth grade STEM teacher in Olentangy Local Schools. “Having the ability to pinpoint each student’s level helps me tailor lessons, which increases my students’ confidence and motivation.”

With this solution, DreamBox has given teachers the capacity to more effectively track student learning by offering data on each student’s growth in real time and adapting the next step in the lesson to meet their needs at that moment. This type of tailored and immediate intervention will help students to correct areas in which they are struggling and to feel motivated by a sense of understanding.

“By equipping teachers with innovative tools that support goal-setting and progress monitoring, we’re enabling them to quickly identify and support the needs of each student on a continual basis,” said Dr. Tim Hudson, vice president of Learning for DreamBox. “Teachers using DreamBox now have even more ways to ensure all students are engaged in the rich, personalized learning experiences they need, precisely when they need them.”

By providing children with engaging, age-appropriate visual representations of math, DreamBox creates an environment that motivates them to persist, progress, and achieve success with just the right amount of support when they need it. The RTI solution takes this one step further by ensuring that every moment of learning is priming each student for success and enabling teachers to deliver exactly what that student needs. “Being able to connect the dots between where students are and where they need to be will make a huge difference for my students’ success. I can accurately identify what a student needs help with, in the moment they need it, and take that window of opportunity to help them progress,” Crisp said.
